For New Yorkers who have heard about Blue Hill at Stone Barns at Stone Barns I’m here to report it’s even cooler and more delicious than you could ever imagined. It’s about 25 miles from the city in Tarrytown. Very easily accessible via train (then a 5-minute cab ride) or you can go the Zip Car route which is what we did. Regardless, it’s a great excuse to get out of the city, enjoy the nice scenery between here and Tarrytown and have one of the most memorable and delicious meals you’ll ever experience. The food and service were both outstanding and the scenery just as fabulous. Hands down one of my top favorite meals in the New York area with my favorite date (my dad!). 630 Bedford Road. Pocantico Hills, NY. 10591. 914-366-9600.
I’d recommend an early dinner reservation (ours was at 5:30 p.m.) That will let you enjoy the daylight views, walk around the farm, and check out the gift shop before heading into the restaurant. There’s a lovely bar area (inside the restaurant) where you should be sure to have a cocktail. If it’s cold out there’s a fireplace which adds to the ambiance and charm.
